1)ELECTRIC
CURRENT -Flow of electrons is
called Electric Current.
2)ELECTROPLATING-The process of depositing a layer of any desired metal on
another material by means of electricity is called ELECTROPLATING.
3)CHEMICAL
EFFECTS OF CURRENTS-The passage of an
electric current through a conducting liquid causes chemical reactions. The
resulting effects are called CHEMICAL EFFECTS OF CURRENTS.
4)GOOD
CONDUCTOR-Which conduct the
electricity and which allows the electricity to flow throw it is called GOOD
CONDUCTOR.
5)
INSULATOR-Which do not conduct electricity and which don’t allow the
electricity to flow through it is called INSULATOR.
6)ELECTRODES-The metal rods or plates through which electric current
enters or leaves the conducting solution is called an ELECTRODES.
7)CATHODE
(positive terminal) -CATHODE is electrode connected to negative terminal of a battery.
8)ANODE
(negative terminal) - ANODE is electrode connected to the positive terminal of a
battery.
9)LED – LED’s refer to ‘Light Emitting Diodes’. They can detect even a
weak current.
10) BAD/POOR CONDUCTOR- Some substances allows electric current to pass through them but in very little amount .Therefore, such
substances are called BAD/POOR CONDUCTOR of electricity.
11) BATTERY- A container consisting one or more cells, in which
chemical energy is converted into electricity and is used as a source of power.
12) CURRENT- The time rate of flow of electric charge,
in the direction that a positive moving charge would take and having magnitude
equal to the quantity of charge per unit time: measured in ampere is called CURRENT.
13) AMPERE- AMPERE is a unit
of electric current equal to a flow of one coulomb per second.
